For this reason it seems that Frederick II never visited Florence, nor places that had the word Fiore in their name. When his conditions were now hopeless, he was taken and hospitalized in the village of Fiorentino. And so it was that Frederick II, realizing the imminent fulfillment of the prophecy, accepted the inevitable fate with a smile on his face.
